The portals and the mobile app
Onyx has three web portals and a mobile app. They all work on the same data, but each shows only what its user is allowed to see.
Ops portal
Section titled “Ops portal”For trustee staff. This is where the scheme is run. Its main areas are:
- Schemes: the schemes and funds the trustee runs, their benefit policies and documents.
- Members and employers: records, pending registrations, KYC update requests, onboarding batches.
- Finance: contributions, flagged contributions, payment notifications, bank accounts and reconciliation, fees, forfeiture, chart of accounts and manual journals.
- Claims: benefit claims, transfers and fund switches.
- Investments: valuations, unit price history, fund holdings and mandate limits.
- Compliance: regulatory returns, trustee licences, the audit trail and access log.
- Communications: email and SMS, single messages and broadcasts.
- Reports: contribution trends, employer arrears and activity, fees, benefit payments.
- System: users, roles and permissions, and configuration.
What each staff member can do depends on the roles and permissions they have been given.
Employer portal
Section titled “Employer portal”For employers whose staff are on a scheme. An employer can:
- see and maintain its own staff on the scheme, including enrolment batches and KYC;
- submit contributions for them and deal with any that are flagged;
- raise benefit claims for staff who leave or retire, and record forfeiture decisions;
- keep its own details and documents up to date.
An employer sees a member only as its own employee. It never sees another employer the member works for.
Member portal
Section titled “Member portal”For scheme members. A member can:
- complete onboarding the first time they sign in;
- see their contributions and statements;
- keep their profile, KYC documents, next of kin and beneficiaries up to date;
- raise a benefit claim and upload the documents it needs.
Mobile app
Section titled “Mobile app”For scheme members, on their phone. It offers the same member services as the member portal, and adds push notifications. A phone is registered as a device on the member’s account.
Signing in
Section titled “Signing in”Each portal has its own address and its own sign-in. Signing in to one portal does not sign you in to another, and the three keep separate sessions. Sign-in and password reset are covered under Getting started.
